Shadowmania years since 1998, which was the 40th Anniversary year, celebrating the beginning of Britain's most well known instrumental group in 1958.

Although they had not recorded together for many years, or played as a band since their last tour in 1990, there are still thousands of fans worldwide who follow the careers of the orginal members and are either playing their great music themselves or enjoying the performances of the various tribute bands who perform and record the sound of the Shadows music worldwide.

Bruce Welch did not wish the 40th Anniversary to pass without a celebration, therefore on the 30th May 1998 he organised the very first Shadowmania at The Lakeside Complex. Needless to say this proved to be an unqualified success and by the time the evening came the event was a complete sell-out. Shadows fans travelled across the globe to be part of this unique occasion. From this great success the Lakeside Complex then became the home of The Shadowmania weekend for the following ten years.
